Custom Workroom Technical Center or "Workroom Tech" is a training facility dedicated to the custom workroom industry with weekly hands-on classes for window treatments and soft furnishings. Classes are for all skill levels, whether you are learning to sew home decor to start a workroom business, or you are a professional seeking to hone your skills. Workroom Tech is owned and operated by Susan Woodcock and Rodger Walker, owners of Home Dec Gal and producers of Custom Workroom Conference


Ceil DiGuglielmo has owned Sew Much More, a custom workroom to the trade in Warrington, Pennsylvania, since 2005. Passionate about education in the window coverings industry, Ceil regularly attends conferences and classes to keep up with industry standards and improve her skills. Ceil was Vice President of the Southeastern PA WCAA Chapter and is currently the Immediate Past President as well as the Secretary of the National Board. Ceil hosts and produces the Sew Much More Podcast; an interview-style podcast for people in the Custom Home Furnishings Industry. Ceil completed the Evernote Certified Consultant Training Program and offers Evernote Training for designers and workrooms to help them run their businesses more efficiently and profitably. 


Denton Drapes is a custom workroom located in Bedfordshire, England in the United Kingdom who specialise in creating luxurious bespoke curtains, blinds and soft furnishings designed and handsewn to the highest quality. Penny Bruce established the business in 1998 and has grown it into a highly regarded industry brand serving the luxury residential market. Penny is a Director and Fellow of the Association of Master Upholsterers and Soft Furnishers and is a champion of traditional hand sewing techniques providing inspiration and advice to workroom professionals through hands-on training and on social media Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube



Seamless Workroom is an efficiency management system for designers and workroom professionals. It is designed to help keep track of job specifications with fillable measuring forms, resource documents and fabrication workbooks that will calculate yardage as well as quote labor, hardware, and fabrics.   

 


With a degree from The University of South Carolina in Management Information Systems and Administrative Management, Michele Williams has combined her love of creativity and textiles with the nitty-gritty of business management to help other creatives learn the technical and financial sides of business. Michele is a Profit First Certified Coach, and she is the past president of the national WCAA and a member of the Atlanta and Virtual chapters of WCAA. Michele is also a member of WFCP, Design Collective, NAPW, and Designers’ Workroom Council. Michele Williams is fiercely committed to guiding creative business owners in the understanding of complex business concepts and processes in a simplified way. She strives to help them be profitable which allows for a healthier work-life balance. 



Merrill Y. Landis, Ltd. (MYL) is a COM Window Treatment Manufacturing Workroom and Products Distribution company to the trade. In addition to their Custom Labor Workroom, they offer a wide variety of Decorative Drapery Hardware, Blinds and Shades, Fabrics, Motorization, and Workroom Supplies servicing both Decorators and Workrooms. Steve Landis is President/CEO and second-generation owner of Merrill Y. Landis, Ltd. A Temple University graduate trained in Lean Manufacturing, Steve has spent 46 years learning all aspects of the window covering industry working in their COM Custom Window Treatment Workroom helping Designers and other Workrooms be successful. 


Claudia Buchanan, owner of Home Sewing Depot, started sewing at the age of 10. She is a former owner of a drapery workroom and an expert on home décor; including slipcovers, bedding, window treatments, and kids’ décor. Whether you want to learn how to create custom décor for your home at a fraction of the retail cost or use your home décor skills to launch a professional drapery workroom, Claudia is committed to helping you succeed. 


 

The Window Coverings Association of America is the only national nonprofit trade association dedicated to the retail window coverings industry and its dealers, decorators, designers, and workrooms who are our members. WCAA was founded in 1986 as a division of the National Decorating Products Association. In 1993, the association left and became the Window Coverings Association of America. Today the WCAA has nearly 1,000 members in North America, Europe, and the Caribbean.
